Blog Spotlight: Dog Shaming
I stumbled onto Dog Shaming this morning, and I am DYING. People send in pictures of their dogs with placards outing them for their worst behavior.
It is genius.
My favorite:

"I was a bad boy today." "I probably helped." "I have shamed my family."

"I ate my boy's glasses. He only needed them to see things far away, and I am right here."

"I pooped on another dog at the dog park."

Spayghetti and No Balls
Last night I went to Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center's 5th annual Spayghetti and No Balls benefit, and it was wonderful.
MARC is a rescue/adoption center that also does a lot of community outreach in Milwaukee, WI. They're pretty great - you should check out the programs and services they provide to their community.
The event was held in Milwaukee's Italian Community Center, and the turnout was fantastic. I went with my mom, aunt, and cousin, who came with some friends. There was a tarot card reader, caricature artist, some casino games, and a live band that played almost enough Dolly Parton. Plus, vegan cupcakes!
There were tons of things up for raffle, including this monstrous amount of wine.
None of us won the wine.
But I did win a $100 gift certificate to Manhattan Textiles! I was pretty stoked because, well, fabric.
Fur Brain donated a basket with mats n' toys to the raffle. My mom insisted on taking a picture of me standing by it because she is a mom who always insists on taking pictures of me standing by things. I'm posting the picture because my dress was so damned cute, even though you can't see the basket at all. (It looked cute, trust.)
I'm excited for next year's event!

Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center Benefit
Tomorrow night I'm going to a benefit for Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center, a no-kill shelter and adoption organization in Milwaukee, WI. I'm super excited for the event (the promo material promises both a caricature artist AND gambling).
Beyond providing permanent homes for rescue animals, MARC offers free community outreach programs like spay/neuter assistance and human education programming for schools and community groups. Plus, their benefit is called Spayghetti and No Balls Bash. I'm all over it.
Fur Brain donated a basket to be auctioned off at the event. I'm happy with how the basket turned out, even though the pictures I took aren't awesome.
